Piece of Cake Making Cake

This dump cake recipe is very easy to make. Like the name suggests, you simply dump all the ingredients together in a bowl then you spread them out in a greased baking tray. Bake it in the oven until golden and crusty. Dump cake is rich in fruity flavors with a nice crumb. It is a sure hit to the novice cook as he/she can easily attempt to try. All you need is brown sugar, canned crushed pineapple, box cake mix, grated coconut, chopped pecans, and margarine or butter to make this simple dump cake recipe. Either hot or chilled you can serve this dump cake. Top it with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup for an even more indulgent dessert.

Dump cake is designed for the super busy lifestyle. It can be made in a jiffy when you have unexpected guests coming over or if you fancy a baked dessert during the weekdays. The moist and luscious fruits combine perfectly with the cake mix that creates a crunchy layer of crust. Dump cake makes an excellent base for ice creams similar to fruit cobblers. In making this recipe you can also experiment with other types of fruits like peaches, bananas, mangoes, strawberries or raspberries.

There are two ways of making dump cake. Some like to layer the ingredients onto the baking tray. Others like to mix them all together before spreading them out on the tray. In this recipe, before they are baked, the ingredients are all mixed together. This canned crushed pineapple used in this recipe must be drained first before mixing in with the other ingredients. The canned pineapple is a very convenient ingredient that saves you a lot of preparation time. This dump cake is a lovely alternative to more complicated recipes like pineapple upside down cake. This simple recipe can be attempted by cooks who know nothing of baking.
