Easy Organic Granola Bars

Granola bars are especially conveniently packed in such a way that they give you a certain boost and that high level of energy. To make sure they are created with only the safest and highest quality ingredients, you can prepare your own bars in the comforts of your own kitchen. This organic recipe taken from a recipe especially provided by USA Weekend is made with the use of organic condensed milk, dried organic cranberries, organic dark or semi-sweet chocolate, raw organic almonds, organic wheat germ and organic steel-cut oats. You can actually create a version of your own with this granola recipe with the use of some types of dried fruits, raw nuts, muesli, nuts, cereals as well as trail mix.This interesting recipe can also be enhanced by adding other organic ingredients as well such as prunes, strawberries, blueberries, mangoes, raisins, apricots, dates, and cherries. Raw pecans as well as coconut chips or flakes add flavour to the granola bars that would make you crave for more. Appetizing granola bars are quite easy to create and with the use of all organic and natural ingredients, they are healthy and wholesome as well.

Ingredients

cups organic steel-cut oats
½ cup organic wheat germ
1 cup raw, organic almonds, sliced
½ cup (about 3 oz.) organic semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips or chunks
½ cup dried organic cranberries
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened organic condensed milk



1.The oven must be preheated to 325⁰ F. 

2.Then coat a 9 inch-square baking pan with cooking spray. 

3.You can also choose to line the pan with the use of an aluminum foil then use the cooking spray to coat the foil. 

4.Using a medium bowl, all of the ingredients are then mixed altogether. 

5.The mixture is then spread in the pan, packed firmly all throughout.It is then baked for a period of 30 minutes or till golden brown. 

6. It is then taken away from the heat. 

7.Let it cool at room temperature and the pan must then be placed in the freezer till the mixture has reached that level of firmness. 

8.When ready, it is now then removed from the freezer.

9.Then cut it into 16 1 by 4 inch bars with the use of a sharp knife. 

10.Using an airtight container, the bars can then be stored until a week or you may freeze them until ready to serve.
