Mayonnaise and Chocolate Mix Up

Chocolate cake batter with mayonnaise will make a creamier and super moist chocolate cake. This secret ingredient works better than if you use sour cream, milk or more oil to the chocolate batter in creating a rich and luxurious cake. This chocolate mayonnaise cake recipe is simple and easy to do. It also eradicates the need for eggs since mayonnaise is generally made of eggs. All-purpose flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, vanilla extract and strong coffee are the other ingredients used to make this recipe.

Coffee is another secret ingredient for making extraordinary chocolate cake. If you add freshly brewed coffee to the chocolate batter it will deepen the flavor without overpowering the chocolate taste. After make a strong brew of fresh coffee, before adding it to the batter allow it to come to room temperature. Before they are mixed in together it is best for all the ingredients to be at room temperature. Allow at least an hour for all the ingredients to come to room temperature. Use the best quality cocoa powder you can find. Poor quality chocolate will result in poor tasting chocolate cake no matter how good you make it or whatever tricks and methods you employ. A rich chocolate will make a rich cake.

Sift all the dry ingredients first before measuring them out to ensure precise measurement before assembling the batter. Don’t just measure the flour straight out of the bag chances are you will be getting more than you need. The flour will be packed in the measuring cup and you’ll get a dense and dry chocolate cake. Use a spoon to scoop the flour onto the measuring cup and level it out with the back of the knife after sifting the flour. This method makes a smoother and lighter chocolate cake. To make it easier to get the cake out when it has baked and cooled grease the cake pan and sprinkle with some cocoa powder. This will also give the cake an extra chocolate flavor.

Ingredients

250gms flour, all-purpose
2 teaspoons baking soda
100gms cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
100ml mayonnaise
1 cup pre made strong coffee
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
2. Combine the mayonnaise, coffee, and vanilla extract. in another bowl.
3. Into the dry ingredients stir the liquid mixtures.
4. Pour the batter into a greased baking tray. Sprinkle cocoa over it.
5. In a preheated oven bake for about 30-35 minutes at 350 degree F. Before serving allow it to cool.
